  • Regular on site training for nurses provided by a university lecturer in anaesthesia

Operating Theatre

  • Soft tissue surgeries performed including routine neutering surgeries as well as more complex operations, such as lump removals and abdominal surgeries
  • Advanced referral level, orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures by visiting certificate holders
Puppy

Referrals

We are able to organise referrals to a range of specialist centres as well as providing the option for in-house referrals for orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

Prescriptions

Written prescriptions are available from this practice at a fee of £22.85 including VAT per prescription, per item.  Please note that any prescription can only apply to ONE individual pet.

The general policy of this practice is to re-assess animals requiring repeat prescriptions every 3-6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. The standard charge for a re-examination is £46.00 including VAT.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations help protect your pet against many diseases eg canine parvo virus, cat flu and feline leukaemia. Before administering any vaccines, the vet will carry out a comprehensive health check

Vaccinations provided include:-

  • puppy and kitten vaccines courses
  • annual boosters
  • Kennel cough
  • rabies vaccine for travel purposes

Pet Travel to Europe and Beyond

If you wish to take your pet(s) abroad we can offer Animal Health Certificates which allow pets to travel within Europe and beyond, without quarantine on return.

Insurance Claims

We would advise all clients wherever possible to take out pet insurance to help cover veterinary care. The practice can offer comprehensive support in dealing with claims and any queries should be addressed to claims@info.lodgevet.co.uk

Out of Hours Care

Our out of Hours care is provided by the Willows Veterinary Centre.  The Willows offers our clients a friendly, highly trained and caring team who are available during the night, at weekends and Public Holidays.  Their centre is at Highlands Road, Shirley, Solihull, B90 4NH.

If your pet needs emergency care, please call us on 0121 783 2327. If it is ‘out of hours’, our answering machine message will direct you to call The Willows on 0121 712 7070. They will make arrangements with you so that your pet can be seen.

The fees for an ‘out of hours’ consultation at The Willows are £190.00 before 11pm and £240.00 after 11pm. Treatment and procedures are in addition to the Out of Hours Consultation Fee.

In Patients at The Lodge Veterinary Centre

The Lodge Veterinary Centre is one of the few practices that still provide hospitalisation service s onsite. For most of our clients, this means, that should your pet require hospitalisation overnight this will be provided at our main surgery in Hodge Hill – there will be no need for you to transfer your pet to an out of hours provider.
